World Health Day

The First World Health Assembly called for the creation of a World Health Day in 1948. Since 1950, World Health Day has been observed on April 7 every year. The aim of World Health Day is to raise global awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organisation (WHO). World Health Day serves as a launch for a long-term advocacy plan, for which activities will be organised and resources made available. 2018 was the 70th year since the call for the creation of a World Health Day. WHO called on all nations to live up to their pledges they made when they agreed to adopt the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, which offers an opportunity to realise health for all, i.e. to commit to concrete steps to advance #HealthForAll. #HealthForAll aims at ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access essential quality health services without facing financial hardships. The theme of World Health Day 2019 is Universal Health Coverage. It aims at looking after the health of every person, everywhere. Send World Health Day FaveKads to your family and friends to raise awareness about the importance of health to every one of us.
